Energize Your Life

Sometimes, we can really get stuck in a rut. We stay in that comfortable place, that place that can be really boring and uneventful. It is important to grab life and direct it the way that you want it to go.

When individuals are in the mist of their own storms, it is hard to believe that others are going through storms as well. From the outside looking in, it is as if some people have the perfect life. It looks like their kids are perfect, their marriage is perfect, their career is going in the right direction, etc. I am here to tell you that just because someone looks like they are doing well on the outside, on the inside they could be dealing with more problems than you can imagine. They just may be better at faking it than you are at the moment.

What I have learned is that sometimes these storms happen for a reason. Sometimes in order for us to get better, appreciate what we have, or step out on faith…we have to go through the storm. Learn from the storm that you may be in. Let it guide you to the next level of your life. Then, be a testimony to others.

Once you have gone through the storm, no matter how good or bad, grab hold of your sail and take full control. You are the captain of your destiny. You have to be your own beacon of light to put that fire back into your life. Don’t let a day go by without living each day to the fullest.

What are you going to do different today than you did yesterday to make your life better? It is completely up to you!

My 3 Words

So, we are a little past the turn of the New Year and I have to wonder how many have already broken their resolutions. I love the idea of leaving the activity of setting New Years’ Resolutions in the past. They have been extremely ineffective for many people. After reading Chris Brogans post about ‘My 3 Words,’ I had to come up with my own 3 words to use as my mantra this year. Take a look at his post to see the variety of words that people have chosen.

Here are my 3 words:

Temple – We have all heard the saying that your body is your temple. Well, you really have to treat it that way. Temples are given the best care inside and out and I plan to make this one of my 3 words. Healthy eating and regular exercise are a must for living a quality life. This year, I am adding yoga and meditation to my regular routine. I look forward to the results I know that yoga and meditation will bring to my life!

Focus – Like many people, there is so much that I want to do that I end up doing nothing. This year is all about FOCUS. In order to have complete focus, one can’t procrastinate. Simplify and do not be afraid to say no. The entrepreneur in me likes to start projects but this year, I need to actually get them done. I plan on creating a simple list of goals and focusing on achieving these goals.

Live – I hate to admit it, but sometimes I have a tendency to be slightly uptight. I am the one that is always thinking about what if this happens and what if that happens. This year, this may be my most difficult word to live up to. The ability to let my hair down has never been my strong suit. But in 2012, I plan on living life to the fullest. This will be the first year I start checking items off of my bucket list. I’m not going to be afraid to live in the moment.

So, my 3 words are Temple, Focus, and Live. Although these do not make up a typical resolution, these 3 words do make up the person I want to become this year. What are your 3 words?
